What is, how to choose,
and where to register
a domain name ?
This might seem a silly question to some but if you don't know what
a domain name is or not quite sure I will answer it now. A domain name or URL is the name you give your web site. Ex. the domain name for this
web site is affiliatemarketinggenius.com. Mine has a .com but there are many more prefixes available.
Usually for many instances you type in http:// which stands in tech
language "hyper text transfer protocol" and you usually put www. right after which stands for "world wide web". It looks like this http://www.AffiliateMarketingGenius.com.
There are instances where you don't use the www. such as some affiliate URL's. It can cause them not to work. I don't
want to get to techy I just wanted you to know this in case you are testing an affiliate link URL of yours and your page doesn't come
up, this could be the reason.
To register a domain you must pick one that hasn’t been taken.
Sometimes this can be a problem as a lot of domain names are taken, but if you are on your game and you use your head you can usually come up
with one that will suffice.
