To build a website you will need a website builder. With some site builders you do not need to know html code. For 2 site builders I recommend check out the links listed here. Before you build your website you should read the SEO section just to get an idea how you should start or you could just go to Sitesell.

First you must come up with a title that captures what you are trying to sell or accomplish on your website. Next you need to have a description of what your website is about. Next you need content for your website so people get what you trying to accomplish with your website. Some builders, you create tables to put text or images in. You place a table in with as many rows and columns as you need for a particular situation and then you put your content or images in the columns or rows. With a little practice and getting to know your builder it isn’t hard to build a website.

The thing you should have an idea about is SEO (search engine optimization). The reason you build your website with SEO in mind is so you will get a better search engine ranking for your site. People need to find your site and you have a much better chance of doing that if you are on page 1 and not page 10. This is something you work at, but you can get traffic in other ways in the mean time.

Remember, build your site to first give your prospect information and become friends with the potential customer. The more friends you make, the better. Pick out a site of your competition and see how they built their website. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel just create one that is similar that works. Just go to the major search engines, such as Google, Yahoo, MSN and type in the main keyword you think that people will look for your site. Check out the top few sites.

When checking out your competition, things to look for are,

  • What their title looks like and where it is located.
  • What their content is and where it is located.
  • How much content they have on their home page.
  • How many keywords they have and how often they use them.
  • Pay particular attention to the top of their page and close to the bottom of their page.
  • How many links on their page and where they lead to. Does the link lead to another page on their website or to another website that links back to them?

Right click on their home page and click on view source, this will give you their html code for the page. Pay attention to the Title tags <Title> Website Optemization</Title> This is an example. Whatever their title is will be between the title tags. Also their description tags which will have a similar format and see what description they used. This is important for SEO (search engine optimization).

  Internet Marketing Tips!

Take time and learn how to use your website builder. Remember the tables if your builder uses them, to put your information and images in. These tables will keep your information where you want it. Sometimes if your not using tables your information ends up elsewhere when you press your website preview button.
