How to Upload Your
Files
to the Web

Once you have your web-site built, your domain
name, your hosting plan, you need to download your website
files through an FTP to your web host. When you signed up for
your hosting plan you should have received an ftp address and a
username and password so you would be able to upload your files
to your hosts server.
Your
host should have access on how to do this but I will go over
the basics. You should transfer your files to the index.htm
folder inside the public_html file as this is what the
system looks when transferring your files to the
WEB.
To give you an example of how it is done. At the
time of this publication I had used Microsoft Publisher to
create this web-site. Since then I redone the website with
Xsitepro. First I created and registered my Domain
name
GoDaddy.com - World's #1 Domain Name
Registrar.
I purchased my hosting plan Here
and received my username and
password in my e-mail which I picked out when I purchased my
hosting account. I also go back to the company I registered my
domain name with and direct my domain name to my website using
the 2 ip addresses my host gave me in my e-mail they sent
me.
Then I add an FTP location and short cut. With
Microsoft publisher I click, file, open, and where it says
"look in":, then click the little arrow for
the pop down box, click on ftp locations, click add ftp
location. Put your ftp address your host gave you in the name
of ftp box, click user and add your username and password your
host sent you then click add ftp location, click
ok.
Now click publish to web under the File tab at the
top right hand corner in Microsoft Publisher. Again the look in
box appears but when you press the little arrow and look in
your ftp locations, your ftp address should be there. Click it
and then enter your username and password and press ok. Just
click on the public_html folder, If this is your main website
click on the index.htm site and press save. If this is one of
your add on websites just click on the name of website folder
and click save. Bingo, you’ve made it.
Since I purchased
my new builder at a one time cost Click Here For
Builder You put your information in the
appropraite spot and you only have to click a button to
publish to web ever again. It's
great!
The other program
I highly recommend with the builder and everything you need is
even easier again. Click here to find out
